Aileen Huang-Saad, Ph.D., Research Manager, joined the M-NIMBS in August, 2005. Prior to joining M-NIMBS, Dr. Huang-Saad gained extensive experience in commercial project management and federal funding agencies through her positions at Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio, Texas), the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA, Alexandria, Virginia), and as a private consultant (Ann Arbor, Michigan). For the past seven years, while at IDA and as a private consultant, Dr. Huang-Saad supported the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as a science and technology advisor. Her responsibilities as a science and technology advisor included monitoring the latest developments in the field of biotechnology, critically reviewing research proposals, monitoring performer progress, and assessing milestones and technology transition.
Dr. Huang-Saad holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Huang-Saad is also pursuing her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
